Public transport

Getting around in Copenhagen is easiest, cheapest and fastest on a bike. You can get cheap bikes in the Nørrebro area or use the city’s bikes by leaving a DKR20 deposit. The A buses run all over the city every five minutes in the day time, every 8 minutes at night. The S buses are express and will get you anywhere in 15 minutes. The S trains are convenient for longer journeys and in combination with the metro they cover the whole Copenhagen area.

- You can pick up your monthly card at any major station; Vesterport, Nørreport, Nørrebro, Østerport, Valby Station and at the main station. Bring a photo and be prepared that a monthly card will cost you around €50 for three zones (you can get a bike for the same amount of money, but remember to invest in a BIG lock)

- The metro is a fast way to travel, but the trains still don’t run completely smooth.

- In the bus you either pay when you enter (€2,5 for two zones lasting 1 hour) or you get a ten-clip ticket at any station for €16.
