Where to get laid

The Danes are pretty open-minded people when it comes to late night romance, these are people who don’t nessecarily wait till the third date to get it on. Boys hit on girls and girls hit on boys, girls buy their own drinks and open the door for guys. The couples usually go out in groups, often coming from a private party or dinner, while the singles usually couple up – it is normal for both two girls and two guys to get dressed to impress and then go out together to have some fun. Usually people meet up at home before going out – here they’ll have a few bers, listen to music and get ready. Getting buzzed at  home is a good way to save a couple of euros and build up a good mood. With no place to chill, people start the night at bodegas where the beer is cheap and then continue on to more upscale bars later.

Inner city bars
If you are looking to get up close and personal with a Dane, the Inner city bars is usually a safe bet. Go for places with large dance floors, like Studenterhuset where the college people hang out for concerts, stand-up etc. Stengade 30 is home of the best reggae parties in the city, and the crowd is not afraid of getting close and sweaty. Hong Kong is where everybody goes when everything else is closed. You are sure to find a party at Ideal Bar (next to Vega) for a drink too much on your way home.

Clubs
If you prefer clubs over bars, you’ll have plenty of venues in Copenhagen. However most clubs charge an entrance fee. Half machine 8bit club is located on a boat but only opens occasionally. The inner city discos are rather touristy but in general good pick-up spots. Karrierebar is the hottest place in town – with an overload of art people and magazine/book/clothes line launches. Jolene in the Meat District has just reopened and is drawing in the masses. Open air Docken in Nordhavn opened last summer and will reopen each summer – for another beach party venue do not miss Halvandet with DJs mojitos and nachos overlooking the sea. this season. Rust is up and running again after a fire; 20-somethings. Culture Box is non-commercial and with a great art scene – always good for electro sounds.
