FC København
Founded in 1992, F.C. Copenhagen is actually based on a long and rich football tradition in Denmark. Somewhat of an oddity in Scandinavia, the club actually represents two teams, the KB and Boldklubben 1903. This super club was formed to become more competitive with Europe as a whole and to potentially qualify for a European competition.
The national arena Parken is the official home for F.C. Copenhagen matches and was actually built the same year the club was founded. There are a total of 38,050 seats and an average of approximately 23,000 in attendance per game.
F.C. Copenhagen by far has the largest fan base in all of Denmark and greater Scandinavia. The FCKFC is the official club and boasts a membership of approximately 20,000 individuals. There is also the stigma attached to F.C. Copenhagen that the upper class are the principal fans of the club which is a ripe explanation for their biggest rivalry with Brøndby IF. This rivalry has been perpetrated due to the assumed social class fan bases each club attracts.
Since its founding in 1992, F.C. Copenhagen have come up as champions of the Danish Liga 7 times, runner-up 3 times. They have won the Danish Cup 4 times and came in as runner-up 3 times. They were the winners of the Danish League Cup in 1996 and the winners of the Danish Super Cup in 1995, 2001, and 2004. Also, F.C. Copenhagen as won the Ørestad Cup twice and the Kings Cup once in 1994. In Europe they have yet to win a championship and have had difficulty getting through the qualifying rounds. The best performance has been the Round of 32 in the UEFA Cup and the 2nd qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. They were group winners in 1992 of the Intertoto Cup.
